What do your financial strength ratings mean?

Insurance companies’ financial strength ratings are from leading independent ratings agencies (like A.M. Best and Standard & Poor’s) reflect an insurance company’s capital holdings.
It is important to understand the financial strength of insurance companies when you are comparing auto insurance quotes. You can check an insurance company's J.D. Powers rating. J.D. Power and Associates collects data from individual policyholders nationwide and rates them according to coverage options, price, claims handling, satisfaction with company representatives and the overall experience.
You also can look at A.M. Best and Standard and Poor’s ratings. Both companies publish financial strength ratings for all insurance companies. These companies measure an insurance company's ability to pay out a claim. It does not measure customer service though.
When you purchase from CarInsurance.com you are purchasing from insurance companies that have a strong financial backing. CarInsurance.com checks these items for you:

  • Verify that the company is able to transact insurance in your state and check consumer complaints about each company.
  • Check company strength, financial strength, stability ratings, and overall health of the insurance company.
  • On your quote and when you purchase you can see each companies Rating by A.M. Best.
